Registration Process

Pre-Registration Preparation

Before the registration, you are required to prepare the following materials:

1.Valid passport & visa

2. Admission notice

3. Confirmation Form for Study in China(JW201/JW202)/Information Form for Foreign Students’ Short-term Visit

4. Highest diploma (original & notarized)

5. Physical Examination Record for Foreigner(original)

6. No criminal record (original)

7. 2 inch photos*2

On-Site Registration Steps

Step 1: Verification of Admission Qualification

Proceed to International Cooperation Department and submit the prepared materials to the staff for verification. The staff will confirm your identity, admission qualification, and completeness of materials. If any material is missing or incomplete, you will be informed of the supplementary requirements in a timely manner.

Step 2: Payment of the Fees

You shall pay the tuition fee and accommodation fee on-site. Those who have not paid the application fee (which should be paid after submitting the application) are required to make up the payment during the registration process. You can choose to scan the designated QR code via Alipay or WeChat, or log in to the payment platform (https://pay.lut.edu.cn/xysf/login.aspx, Username: Passport Number/Student ID Number, Password: Lut@2973305) to complete the payment.

Note: Cash is not acceptable.

Step 3:

All international students studying in China for more than 6 months must purchase comprehensive medical insurance for foreigners in China.

Step 4: Apply for a Wifi Account

Apply for a wifi account.

Step 5: Dormitory Check-In

Go to the international student apartment to check in. The dormitory administrator will verify the student's identity, assign the specific room and hand over the room key.

Post-Registration Matters

1.Apply for a Residence Permit (X1 visa holders)

Within 30 days of entry into China, you must go to Lanzhou Municipal Administrative Service Center for a residence permit. The International Cooperation Department will provide guidance on the application materials and process. You should pay attention to the time limit and submit the application in a timely manner to avoid illegal stay.

2. Register at Schools

Master’s students and doctoral students should register at corresponding schools after register at International Cooperation Department.

3. Participate in Orientation

The university will organize an orientation for international students within 2 weeks after registration. The orientation will cover campus rules and regulations, safety precautions, scholarship review requirements, and academic requirements (course selection, examination system), etc. All international students are required to attend on time.

4. Apply for a bank account

International students are advised to apply for a bank card at Langongping Branch of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC). All the scholarship students are required to have an ICBC. The International Cooperation Department will assist in issuing the necessary supporting documents such as a student status certificate for bank card application.

5. Collect of Campus Card and Student ID

You will receive a campus card which can be used for campus consumption, library access, and check in at the dormitory etc.
